Easter/Spring Craft Morning-  26.03.24

This morning we held our Easter and Spring Craft Morning. The children all took part in lots of different craft activities and had such a great time with their family members. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend, we hope you had the best time!

Dinosaur Topic- Reception March 24

This half term Reception have been learning all about dinosaurs! As part of our topic, they have found their own Dinsoaur Eggs from 'Rex' the friendly dinosaur! Rex even came to visit our school and left us clues about his whereabouts. We finally found him outside on the KS2 play equipment.

Throughout this half-term we have learnt all about the different types of dinosaurs, fossils, herbivores, carnivores and even about paleontologists!

EYFS- World Book Day 7/3/24

Today the school celebrated World Book Day- with a theme of magic!

As part of this, we focused on the story of 'Room on the Broom' in EYFS.

We started the day with a perfomance of the story from Mrs Davies and some of the class teachers- which was great fun!

Then throughout the day we took part in different activities such as making our own wands, potions, writing our own spells and playing together as Reception and Nursery.

We even finished the day with a special experiment- watching fizzy drinks erupt!

Train Trip- Reception 9/2/24

Reception had the most fantastic morning on our Train Trip! We boarded the train at Brookmans Park Station and took a train ride to Hatfield! Once there we got to visit a local pub for a quick snack before we started heading back to school. We also carried out a traffic survey at both stations which we will compare back at school. It was such a great trip that was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to all the parents who accompanied us on this trip.

Brookmans Buddies- Reception 9/2/24

This afternoon, Reception met up with their Brookmans Buddies to celebrate Chinese New Year! They had so much fun making their own Chinese Lanterns and chatting about the celebrations of Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year and Dragon Dancing- EYFS 9/2/24

This morning Reception and Nursery celebrated Chinese New Year together. As part of this we all went to the school hall together and first ate some delicious snacks of prawn crackers and hot spring rolls! We then had a go at performing some dancing dragon whilst playing traditional music and our own instruments. It was great fun- Mrs Davies came to join in with our dancing too!

'I like boxes'- 6/2/24 Reception

As part of our Literacy topic this half-term, we read about a character called Small Dog who likes to create different things from cardboard boxes. We then go to using our imagination to create whatever we wanted from boxes. Some ideas were 'a zoo', 'a hovercraft', 'a trap' and 'a castle'! Some of the children also created a large city with train tracks, trees a zoo and a town for small dog to go in!

Pilot Visit- 2/2/24 Reception

We had a special visit from Mr Cook the pilot! He came to tell all the children about his job- they had so many questions for him! It was lovely having a real life pilot come to see us!

Brookmans Airways-  Reception 2/2/24

This morning Reception had a very exciting morning! As they arrived to school they entered Brookmans Airport! They were given their boarding pass and passport before making their way through Security. They then had to find their allocated seat number on our Brookmans Airways plane! We then fastened our seat belts and completed our in flight checks complete with a safety briefing from our wonderful air hostesses. Then we were ready to fly to Italy! We had to take a quick detour in France to pick up Mrs Davies too! We even had some yummy refreshments on board our flight- such fun!
