School Meals

School meals

At Brookmans Park we are very proud of our school meals which are cooked fresh on the premises every day by Hertfordshire Catering Limited. Children can have a hot and healthy school meal, which costs £3.40 per day, or they can bring in a packed lunch from home.

Nursery children can order a school packed lunch which costs £2.60 per day.

Meals can be ordered and paid for via SchoolGrid which allows direct debit or online payments, see link below.  This is the school's preferred payment method. Cash or cheque payments can be made subject to agreement with the school office.

Packed Lunches

If your child has a packed lunch, please provide a clearly labelled lunch box and put the drink in a plastic container (no glass bottles). As we are committed to healthy eating we do not allow sweets, chocolates, crisps or fizzy drinks.

Due to some severe nut allergies in school it is very important that your child's packed lunch is nut free (this includes peanut butter).

Free school meals

All children in Foundation stage and Key Stage 1 are entitled to a free school meal.

However, it is important that Parents/Carers who in receipt of certain benefits, complete the online forms to enable their child/ren to receive free school meals as they progress through the school and will ensure pupil premium funding is allocated to the school.

If you think you are entitled to free school meals you need to apply to Hertfordshire County Council as soon as possible as it can take some time to process and is not backdated (please follow the link below).
