Consultation on Admission Arrangements for 2027/28
Brookmans Park Primary School is consulting on its admission arrangements for the
academic year 2027/28.
The changes being consulted upon relate to the school’s catchment area. The
current catchment map identifies specific individual properties that are considered
within catchment. The proposed changes create a geographical area with defined
boundaries, rather than individual properties. This defined area includes all existing
properties and will also allow for any newly constructed housing to be included within
catchment. This change is intended to provide clarity and consistency for families.
The consultation period for this change runs from 12th December 2025 to 23rd
January 2026. The proposed policy arrangements and revised catchment area map
are available below, along with some Frequently Asked Questions.

FAQ Section for Parents
1. Why is the school consulting on admission arrangements?
The Department for Education requires schools to consult when changes are
proposed. This ensures transparency and gives parents, stakeholders and the local
community an opportunity to provide feedback.
2. What is changing?
Only the catchment area map is changing. Instead of shading individual properties,
the new map will define a clear area that includes all current properties and future
developments within that area.
3. Will this affect my child’s chances of getting a place?
No. The change does not alter the priority order or oversubscription criteria. It simply
clarifies the catchment area for future consistency.
4. How can I view the proposed changes?
The proposed admission arrangements and revised map are available on our
website, https://www.brookmanspark.herts.sch.uk/admission-arrangements and from the
school office.
5. How long is the consultation period?
The consultation runs for six weeks, from 12th December 2025 to 23rd January 2026.
