Y6 Football
On Tuesday evening, some members of our Y6 football squad took part in a friendly football fixtures night at Monks Walk. This was a good warm up for our league campaign, which starts next week. Our first game was against a very good team from Welwyn St Marys and, after going down 2-0 very early on, the team battled hard and didn’t give up. The final score was 3-1, with our goal coming from a great free-kick shot from Jack. Our second game was a closely fought game against St John’s Digswell, which ended up 2-2, with two goals from Charlie.
There were a lot of positives to take out of the games, but also plenty to work on. Well done to all who played.
Y5 Cross Country
Last week, Y5 all went to Monks Walk for the annual cross country race and fun run. The children had the choice of doing the race, which was a qualifier for the District Cross Country race in October, a fun run or both! Both our teams did fantastically well, which meant we finished 2nd overall. A special mention to our four qualifiers for the District race, Florence, Bethany, Leo and Max, but a huge well done to everyone who ran.
